Festival Days Bicycle Race

"I like to ride my bicycle, I like to ride my bike. I like to ride my bicycle, I like to ride it where I like. Bicycle race, bicycle race, bicycle race, bicycle race!" Queen.

Farmington Festival Days held their annual bicycle race and this year we entered. The kids had a great time. William rode on his training wheeled bicycle the whole way with the Ipod clad Ben running right beside him.

William was so excited to ride in his race! Can't you tell?

On the last leg of William's ride, Whitney and Corinne joined in running beside him and Ben as they came around the corner.
Then is was time for the big kids to race. Corinne decided to say she was 11 so that she could race with Whitney and do 5 laps instead of just 2. In the end she was exhausted and wished she had gone in the 10 year old group.
They still had tons of fun. Here they are with their medals. Whitney came in 7th in her age group and Corinne came in 9th in hers. Can you see sweet Sadie standing on the sidewalk? She was the best water girl. She kept everyone hydrated.

I also rode the adult ride and had a great time. There were 3 of my good friends that I rode with and we had a good time. Thanks for the fun.

Ben's 16th Party Week

Turning 16 is a big deal and we celebrated all week long. Ben started out this past Saturday with a pool party with a lot of his friends. Our neighbors have a beautiful pool in their back yard and they were so kind to let Ben have his friends come and hang out.

It was the best party I have ever hosted. Very easy and the kids had fun..... and were probably all fried. (I offered sunscreen)
Then Sunday we continued the fun with all the family at our house for a BBQ. It was a great time. My mom and dad made the trip from Vernal just for Ben.
I made ice cream cake for the party and it was yummy. Although, I forgot to get it out of the freezer early enough and it was a little hard to eat. Thus, Ben showing off his broken fork.
We ended the celebrations with Ben heading the Driver's License office and receiving his license. I have already enjoyed sending him on the errands I can never seem to get to. (return the 7 day redbox rental, and returning books to the library and neighbors. He loved it.)

Happy Birthday Ben! You are a wonderful kid and I am proud to call you my son! Keep it up.
