Bathtub

The bathtub is out of my living room. It looks pretty good in the bathroom where it belongs. We are slowly getting there with our bathroom. We ordered the vanity last week and it takes 3 weeks to come in. Our goal is to have the bathroom ready for the vanity when it gets here. I sure hope that is possible. I have tried talking Jason into pretending to be a Dentist for a couple of weeks and taking off a day in the middle of the week. He just laughs and says "Not gonna happen." So I just keep trying to talk my kids into being dentists when the grow up.
Anyway the bathroom is coming slowly but surely. I've picked out the tile for the floors and shower walls. I can't wait to get it in.

Corinne's Recital

Corinne had her first guitar recital. She was nervous but did a great job. I almost missed turning the camera on so the video starts right off on her playing.
Her guitar teacher also teaches piano so the recital was both piano and guitar.
It was very fun and Corinne did a great job.

Sticks and stones and stairs

Will's Broken Bones!
This is a first in our family and I have a feeling it won't be the last with this monkey boy.

It all started last night when Will and Whitney were sitting on the stairs just where it starts to bend at the bottom. I hear and tumble and find Whitney carrying Will up the stairs. He had fallen to the bottom. He cried pretty hard and wanted to go to bed. He was in ben by 8 which is early for him. About 11:30 he work screaming and pretty much cried until 12:30.
Then all day today every time he fell, which is
all the time, he would scream forever. I finally took him to kids care tonight and he broke his ulna and radius. The doctor called it a buckle fracture and said it would heal easily. We get to take him to an orthopedic surgeon on Monday and have it looked at again.

For having a broken arm his sure is happy. All smiles and giggles all the time.

White Trash!

Last night I went visiting teaching. I left Jason demoing the bathroom. As I drove down my street 2 hours later this is what I found on the front porch. I laughed pretty hard but by this morning I was done laughing. I told Jason I didn't know how long I could live with a toilet on my front porch.

I thought about planting some flowers in it and just leaving it there for the rest of the summer but then I wondered if my neighbors would complain.

The good news is we think we found our ant problem. Most of you know I have been struggling with the ants all winter. When Jason pulled the potty out he found an ant colony, eggs and all. The wood under the toilet was completely rotted. I am surprised we hadn't fallen through the floor. So the remodel it good in many ways.
Although I am ready to have it done and the demo isn't over yet.
Oh well, Mr. Handy is doing his best.

Utah Band Festival

I am so proud Ben. This last Saturday he had his band competition at the University of Utah. He performed at Libby Gardner Hall. The place was beautiful. This was the best of the best in Jr. High bands. Ben's band teacher had to submit a recording of the band playing in order to get chosen. Ben is in the Concert Band and then there are the 9th graders that are in Symphonic Band. Mr. Wolf, Ben's band teacher, submitted both bands recordings and for the first time in the competition 2 bands from 1 school were accepted. Whoohoo! We knew they were good but this was awesome.
Jason and I went and watched Ben play at this competition and they were wonderful.

Ben came home yesterday with the results.
Farmington Jr. Symphonic Band 1st place
American Fork Band 2nd place
Farmington Jr. Concert Band 3rd Place (Ben's Band)
This is amazing. The American Fork band came in as the favorite to win it all and look at our wonderful Farmington Jr. Band!
Ben's loves his horn and it shows.
I ordered a professional photo of the band at the concert and I will post it when I get it.

Crazy Utah Weather

Yesterday it was a beautiful day. The high for the day was 83 degrees. My girls got out the slip in slide and ran through the sprinklers. It was beautiful.

Today, It Snowed! Go figure!

A little Demolition

It's coming down! I no longer have to look at myself in the mirror when I shower. Or look at the ugly blue tile and moldy, yucky who knows what in the shower. Not that I don't look awesome when I shower of course but sometimes I look so good I don't recognize myself. Now that is what is scary.
Great fun today at our house. The awesome news is I found a bath tub on KSL for free. It is a garden tub and has never been used. It has a few scratches in it but other than that it looks great. I can't wait to get it put in.

remodel

When we do a project we do a project. This is our bathroom. The walls and ceiling had 2 sheets of sheet rock on them. We got the walls all taken down without too much trouble. Some really nice 2 wire outlets that were still in operation. Kind of scary when one of the outlets was behind the vanity and the other was behind the sheet rock behind the toilet. Not sure why you need an outlet behind your toilet but maybe to save time and dry your hair while sitting on the pot.  Anyway so we have left the shower and toilet in operation until we have most of the demo done. I wasn't to hip on have just one bathroom in the house especially at 2:00 in the morning when nature calls and the only one is down all the stairs. Plus it is cold down stairs.

So Jason the handyman is scaring the clients or maybe just William but do you blame him. Today Mr. Handy wanted to get the ceiling down. Well, as he starts her finds 2 layers of sheet rock there as well. On layer comes down beautifully but the other layer is covered in that amazing popcorn looking stucco. As Mr. Handy starts to pull down the ceiling the fun, popcorn style, foam insulation comes down with it.  As you will take note in the picture below that pile of stuff is the insulation from the ceiling. Note: that is the only insulation in the house. We have none in the walls heading out to the outside. We just found this out and boy is it a bit chilly in there. Mr. Handy can fix that as well.
Mr. Handy just asked for Mike Rowe to come and help. Dirty Job? Whatever! You gotta love Mr. Handy. From the looks of things this project will be going on for a while. Anyone who feels like they don't get dirty enough give us a call.

Bath Room Remodel

We finally decide to redo the upstairs bathroom. Many of you have used the facilities there and new how bad they were. The ugly blue counter and the moldy jetted tub are on there way out. William is Jason's little helper and helped him rip down walls and carry garbage out to the trailer.

We had already started a little of the demo when I decided to take some pictures.
We found all sorts of pretty wallpaper and fun stuff behind all the mirror and walls. I have a video of after some of the demo but it won't upload. Maybe later I will try again.

Farnsworth Family Fun

Hey here is a little crazy playing at 10:00 at night. We were all up waiting for Julie, Paul, and Ryan to come and the kids got a little crazy. It was still a lot of fun even though I was really tired and just wanted to go to bed.
